40 Years of Serving Pinellas County, Pinellas Park, Seminole, Safety Harbor, St. Petersburg!
Air Quality Control was founded by Joe and Larry Renda in 1980. Since our inception, we have been dedicated to providing our customers with the best possible service and products. In doing so, we have had to adapt and embrace progressive technology by changing our alliances to those manufacturers who have developed superior products and have separated themselves from the average.
Following Carrier’s $250,000,000 research and development project with United Technologies, which in turn introduced the Infinity line of equipment, we were fortunate enough to get on board and since have met the qualifications to be St. Petersburg’s only Carrier Factory Authorized dealer. We can offer other lines of air conditioners and heat pumps when the situation is applicable.
We are also a TECO People’s Gas contractor and have installed over a thousand tank-less water heaters as well as home stand-by generators and piping for ranges, pool heaters, and a myriad of other natural gas products.
In 1980, Joe and Larry Renda, brothers from Detroit, Michigan and at that time, employees of Ford Motor Company, migrated to Florida with the intent of acquiring an HVAC company and building a brand known for quality of workmanship and character. So on November 1, 1980 they incorporated as Air Quality Control after purchasing a small HVAC company from a local businessman. Larry, a business major in college was in charge of the internal workings of the company but was not above helping Joe, his mechanically minded brother, in the field when an extra hand was needed. Joe’s mechanical expertise was quickly recognized in the industry wherein he has received numerous awards and the name Renda became synonymous with quality at a fair price. With hands-on ownership and a commitment to their customers, they forged a reputation of quality and honesty for everyone regardless of the size or scope of the project and that reputation lives on today.
After Larry’s passing in July of 2014, the burden of duties associated with ownership fell solely upon Joe’s shoulders. He willingly accepted that role but it was soon evident that a different plan would have to be enacted if his full vision for Air Quality Control was ever to be realized.
Early in 2018 Joe initiated an exhaustive search for someone who could share the vision of economic proliferation for the company while perpetuating the baseline credo of quality at a fair price. Subsequent to what seemed like countless formal interviews and confabs and ironic as it is, Joe made the acquaintance of 2 brothers who, like he and Larry, were looking to purchase an HVAC company where developmental opportunity existed. Rick Vassallo and Vic Pagano, originally hailing from Ft. Lauderdale, were the perfect fit. Rick, a CFO for a local industrial decking company with an impressive and proven track record of operational expertise and brother Vic, a licensed HVAC contractor with design and management mastery of his own, purchased the company.
Along with a well established history of experience and expertise, and now with a renewed enthusiasm for growth, Rick and Vic are writing the next chapter for Air Quality Control which will include enhanced benefits for its employees and expanded services for its family of customers. All the while, still offering 100% satisfaction guaranteed on all of our installations and repairs.
All of our installation and service professionals are company employees. We do not use sub contractors to install equipment in your home. In this way we can control the quality of the installation as well as the quality of our personnel. We maintain the highest level of excellence by employing certified journeymen who progress in knowledge through our continuing education programs.
We pride ourselves in providing quality service by quality people.
